The Valladolid Series.
The inspiration comes from the town it was named after - Valladolid in the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. It’s a magical town that still preserves its Spanish and Mayan culture. The streets are quiet, the walls are sun splashed and everyone you meet feels like they are from a time out of place. It’s rich, lush and tropical. That’s because the jungle is relentless. It’s makes it extra special to discover a Jaguar temple or Spanish convent carved out of the overgrowth.
The colors seem to shimmer in the heat. Oh, and it’s really hot. And that’s the perfect excuse to spend the afternoon diving into crystal clear underground pools or as they are called here: cenotes.
The tile designs represent all of the competing elements in Viadollid. From the depth and color of the wildlife to the Spanish culture and the Mayan heritage. It’s a line of tiles that has a story to tell.
The Chef Series Collection
Featuring elegant glaze colors, sleek profiles, and contemporary shapes I designed this collection for everyday use with the hope it becomes an essential part of your daily life. It has for us.
It’s a complete set. First is the Dinner Plate, with its low-profile lip, and minimal exposed-clay rim it’s a natural centerpiece for whatever you are serving.
The Snack Plate is standard-sized for a salad or a side but is extremely versatile. You’ll elevate your snacking with this elegant low-profile plate.
The Everything Bowl is made for… just about everything. It features a slightly tapered edge with an exposed clay rim and base for a fresh contemporary vibe
The Essential Mug is my favorite. Perfect for a latte, soup or afternoon tea it’s built to snuggle with. It’s got an extra comfy handle but you’re gonna want to wrap both hands around it.
The Geometric Series is a custom line of tiles I designed that features fourteen unique patterns in the series. The tiles can be mismatched like I did for this powder room, or you can create a field with any one of them. They are designed to create continuous lines across identical tiles. They are a simple, elegant series that lets you make your own magic.
The entire series is available in 4"X4" and 8"X8" sized tiles at Clay Imports, here in Austin, TX.
The tiles themselves are hand-made in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico. Each tile is screen printed, one at at time and then fired in huge walk in kilns.
We look forward to creating and producing original tile designs based on your project.
“Patisserie” distills the elegance and vibe of the 1970’s art nouveau scene into a 3-part line of new tile designs.
Reminiscent of the street cafés and cocktail lounges of Paris in the ’70s, Patisserie’s simple elegance elevates the design of any space. It adds texture without being busy.
Poco Pottery wares are handcrafted from reclaimed clay and glazes. Each piece is formed individually through slip casting technique and hand dipped, creating unique pieces. Poco Pottery products are microwave safe and we recommend hand washing and handling with care as it will extend the life of your ceramics.
And if you are lucky enough to visit San Miguel de Allende stay at Hotel Amparo where you can sip cortados or hibiscus margaritas from them. That’s where the video and photos were taken.
A fabrication collaboration with McCray & Co for Odd Duck. The burlap bags were sourced from feed companies. There was not a lot of variation between them. To prevent them from becoming repetitive I screen printed some bags with stenciled numbers to keep it fresh. Then they were hand sewn around custom wire frames.
BeenBags are my line of handmade totes and clutches that have 'been' something before. We scavenge, design and sew every part of every one of them.
The exteriors are coffee sacks that brought worldly beans to Austin coffee roasters. The linings of BeenBags could be vintage sheets, shirts, pants, leftover upholstery material, even old wedding decorations. The linings, straps, even the logo tags have been something in a former life. The sewing takes place on what was once our dining room table. And while we work we only listen to covers of cool music.
All materials are sourced and upcycled right here in Austin, TX.

With all this experience in materials and fabrication we are always open to collaborations large and small. It can be a limited run of bags like we did with Howler Brothers.
Or we can apply our skills to make the dreams of designers come true - like the lighting shades at Odd Duck.
Surfer dudes need to carry stuff too.
Howler Bros. contacted me to create a limited series of 60 totes. Was I excited? Totes. I used all of the same Brazilian coffee bean bags for consistency. And then spent some time mixing the exact Howler green that we screen printed on the opposite side.
Loved this project cause they make cool stuff and they are all just so damn nice.
De Nada Cantina is not just another taco joint. One bite of their signature blue corn tortillas will tell you that. So we wanted the welcome to set the tone. The doors are salvaged from Saltillo, framed by heavy marble and my bird’s egg blue palmas tiles let you know that something authentic and special lies within. And once inside we tiled a few tables with the same pattern to tie it all together.
From kitchen islands to showers, drawer pulls to ‘hidden in plain sight’ laundry rooms, I never put form in front of function. Or is it function in front of form? I dunno. Either way, it’s going to look great.
